Rector - Alexandr Sokol was born in 1944. He is a doctor of art history, professor and head of the department of theory of music and composition, member-correspondent of AAU Ukraine, academician of ASHS of Ukraine. He is a Rector of Academy from 2000.
A.Sokol studies problems of logic and methodology of music knowledge and musical performance.
He is a chairman of Odessa department' National Ukrainian musical Union of Ukraine, he is an organiser and President of charitable fund of Gilels.
A.Sokol is a general director of I International Competition of pianists in memory of Gilels, President of I International festival of jazz music 'Wind music fest', organizer and chairman's panel of judges of regional competitions of young composers, main editor of scientific bulletin of Odessa Music Academy - 'Music Art and Culture', member of National Union of composers of Ukraine. |

She studies problems of music culturology and methodology of modern music, semantics typology of music of art. |
