• The brief historical review •  
          Odessa Conservatoire was created on the base of Odessa Music college and was opened in 1913. Malishevskiy was appointed as a director. Talented conductor G.Stolarov was a Rector of Conservatoire from 1923 to 1929. Graduates of those years were grate musicians such as K.Dankevich, V.Femilidy, S.Orfeev, L.Gurov, A.Kogan, E.Gilels, D.Oystrah, S.Rihter and others.
          In 1950 when K.Dankevich was on the post of Rector, Conservatoire was named in honor of a grate singer A.Nezdanova. Conductor and musicologist Orfeev was the rector from 1951 to 1962.

department of piano in the period after war. The department of opera training which was headed by Professor E.Dyblanskaya was created in 1949.
          The department of folk instruments appeared in 1961.
          The department of history of music and musical ethnography and the department of theory of music and composition were created in 1963.
          Orfeev was first head of the department history of music.
          Pianist A.Vaylin, singer E.Ivanov, conductor and composer D.Zagrezkiy worked in 1960 and played a grate role. Organ of the firm 'Zayer' have been set in hall of Conservatoire in 1970.
          Talented musician V.Ship was the head of Conservatoire from 1971 to 1984.
          Professor, Academician, National actress of Ukraine G.Polivanova leads the department of solo singing from 1976.

          Professor, Doctor of art history A.Stanko became the head of the department of stringed instruments in 1987. He a grate number of famous students such as G.Kneller, I.Revyzkiy, O. Sokolovskaya, G.Neymark.
          Professor A.Serebry leads the department of choral conductor from 1978.
          Professor V.Evdokimov leads the department of folk instruments from 1982.
          O.Sokol was appointed as a head's department of theory of music in 1977.
          Professor G.Viranovskiy leads the department's history of music and musical ethnography from 1985.
          Grate singer with a world name L.Ogrenich became the head of Conservatoire in 1984. Professor L.Ginzbyrg leads the department of special piano.
          A new period of the history of Odessa Conservatoire has begun in 1990.
          Assistant course (post-graduation course in performing) has been opened in 1993.
          Odessa Conservatoire is a member of European Association of Music Institutes.
          Doctor of art , Professor, Academician of Academy of Sciences of highest school of Ukraine O.Sokol became a head of Conservatoire in 2000.
          Postgraduate studies and Special Council for examination of the sises have been created for last years. Conservatoire publishes annual scientific bulletin 'Musical art and culture' from 2000. The department of modern music and culturology was created in 2003. The department has been headed by professor E.Markova.

          In 2002 Odessa Conservatoire has been renamed to Odessa Music Academy.
