| The name of Antonida Vasilyevna Nezhdanova is written into the history of the world music heritage with gold letters. Phenomenal art of Nezhdanova, which conquered more than one generation of listeners, has become a legend. Her creative work has taken the worthy place in the treasure of the world vocal performance. Bernard Show, admired of Nezhdanova performance art, presented her with his portrait with the sign: 'I understand now why the nature has given me a chance to live up to 70 - to hear the best of its creation - Nezhdanova'. Her great experience of an opera and chamber singer Nezhdanova used in her teaching career. She taught in an Opera studio of the Bolshoy Theatre, then in an Opera studio of the Theatre named by K.S.Staniclavsky. Since 1944 Antonina Vasilyevna became a Professor at Moscow conservatoire. For her outstanding achievements A.V.Nezhdanova was awarded by honorable titles People's Artist of the USSR, Laureate of State award of the USSR and 'Hero of Labour'. She also had a degree of a Doctor of Art.
On July 29, 2010 we will celebrate the 60th anniversary of the significant event - conferment of the name of Antonina Vasilyevna Nezhdanova on the Odessa state conservatoire. In order to commemorate the memory of the prominent singer, to develop the art of solo singing, to popularize renowned music performance traditions of Odessa and Ukraine, the Scientist Council and the department of solo singing of Odessa Music Academy have founded

| | The International young vocalists competition (Later - the Competition)
| GENERAL REGULATIONS
The I International vocal competition in memory of A.V.Nezhdanova will take place in Odessa(Ukraine), from October 8 till 16, 2010. Students, post-graduate students from universities and young performers of 20-32 years old (as per the date of the Competition's opening) coming from any country of the world are admitted to participate in the Competition The Vocal competition in memory of A.V.Nezhdanova will be held in two categories: 'Opera Performance Art' and 'Concert Chamber Vocal Art'
CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
To become a participant, a vocalist must send an application with the program, which will be performed in all three Rounds (for 'Opera Performance Art' category) or in two Rounds (for 'Concert Chamber Vocal Art'). Deadline for sending applications - August 25, 2010 (for deadline, date on the postal stamp will be taken into account).

| The application should be accompanied with:
| - Photocopy of the passport
- A digital photo on 3.5' floppy-disc, CD/DVD-R/RW, or two 13x18 cm photos, which were taken not earlier than 2010, and are printed on glossy photo paper to be suitable for polygraphic reproduction. The photo can be sent on email of the music academy (odma@online.ua)
- References of conservatoire attended (indicating the educational establishment and year of study as well as teacher's name)
- Photocopies of documents confirming winner titles and/or diplomas, received at previous contests (the most considerable for last five years, no more than three competitions)
- Information about own accompaniment or the Organization Committee will provide piano accompaniment for contestants
- The Directorate of the Competition is not responsible for the loss of the documents through delivery.
- The documents sent late or not in a complete set are not taken into consideration.
- The invitations to the Competition will be mailed to the participants not later than September1, 2010.
- Each recipient of the invitation should confirm his/her participation and send the travel details (by mail, telegram, fax or e-mail) to the Competition's Directorate before September 15, 2010. The information should include exact date and time of arrival in Odessa, number of flight/train and carriage.
- If participants require a foreign passport and visa to Ukraine they need to address the closest Ukrainian Embassy or Consulate for consultations and questions.
COMPETITION PROCEDURE
Purchasing return tickets to Odessa is solely the responsibility and expense of the contestants. Persons accompanying them (also accompanists) travel and stay at the Competition at their own expense. If there is a need the Organizing Committee can arrange the accommodation during the Competition
at a well-equipped hostel or a hotel with reasonable prices (at the expense of the contestant). To register for the Competition upon arrival, a contestant must present the original birth certificate and pay a non-refundable participation fee In the amount of $100 (Grivna equivalent due to the course of the National Bank of Ukraine on the day) Without the payment of the Competition fee participants will not be able to take part in the Competition. In case the participant refuses to take part in the Competition, his/her documents and participation fee will not be returned to him/her.
| The Organizing committee is responsible for:
| - Rehearsals with the accompanist (45 minutes)
- Acoustic rehearsals before the 1st and 2nd Rounds; rehearsals with the orchestra in the premises of the Competition's halls - for the 3rd Round participants
- Free accommodation and meals of the 3rd Round contestants in category 'Opera Performance Art' and laureates and diplomats in category 'Concert Chamber Vocal Art'
- The participants who will not take part in 2nd or 3rd rounds, may choose to stay till the end of the Competition at their own expense.
| The competition will include 3 rounds for category 'Opera Performance Art':
| - Round 1 and 2 - solo program
- Round 3 - performance with orchestra's accompaniment.
- No more than half of the participants will be admitted for participation in the 2nd round.
- Six contestants will be admitted to the 3rd round.
The competition will include 2 rounds for category 'Concert Chamber Vocal Art'
- Round 1 and 2 - solo program
- No more than half of the participants will be admitted for participation in the 2nd round.

| - The order of performances at the Competition is defined by casting of lots prior to the 1st round and will stay as such till the end of the Competition.
- All the participants are obliged to be present at the meeting that will be held after the casting of lots before the 1st round.
- The entire program must be performed by the participants by heart.
- The piece must be performed only in one round.
- No changes in the programs sent by contestants will be permitted
- The Competition's jury has the right to terminate the performance in case it breaks the time limits.
- It is the obligation of the Competition's Laureates to perform at the final concert without any payment to them.
- The Organizing Committee is planning concert tours of the Laureates.
- The contestants will receive no payment for either performing at the Competition, or broadcasting of performances or using their records.
- The Organizing Committee owns the right for audio and video recording of the Competition's performances, as well as their broadcasting on radio and TV.

CATEGORY 'OPERA PERFORMANCE ART'- I Prize - $ 3š000 US, Title of Laureate and Gold medal
- II Prize - $ 2š500 US, Title of Laureate and Silver medal
- III Prize - $ 1š500 US, Title of Laureate and Bronze medal
- A Diploma in 500 US dollars
- Special prizes.
CATEGORY 'CONCERT CHAMBER VOCAL ART'- I Prize - $ 2 500 US, Title of Laureate and Gold medal
- II Prize - $ 2š000 US, Title of Laureate and Silver medal
- III Prize - $ 1š000 US, Title of Laureate and Bronze medal
- A Diploma in 500 US dollars
- Special prizes.

| - Depending on the results of the Competition and within the limits of the awards, the jury has the right:
- Not to award all the prizes;
- To share the prizes among the winners;
- To award the participants with special prizes.
- The Organizing Committee, jury, sponsors and other organizations have the right to set up special prizes and awards for the Competition's participants, in case these awards have been authorized by the jury.
- Any decision of the jury is final and is no subject to reconsideration.

ROUND I (15 Minutes)
1. Operatic, cantata or oratorio aria of XVII-XVIIIth century, including the pieces of W.A. Mozart 2. Operatic aria from works of one of mentioned below European composers (L. Beethoven, V. Bellini, J. Rossini, G. Donizetti, R. Wagner, G. Verdi, G. Puccini, C. Gounod, G. Bizet, J. Massenet, G. Meyerbeer, L. Delibes, R. Leoncavallo, P. Mascagni, F. Cilea, A. Boito.) 3. Participant's native country composer song.
ROUND II (20-25 Minutes)
1. Operatic aria from works of one of mentioned below Russian composers (M. Glinka, A. Borodin, A. Dargomyzhsky, A. Rubinstein, N. Rimsky-Korsakov, M. Mussorgsky, P. Tchaikovsky, S. Rachmaninoff) 2. Operatic aria from works of composers of the XXth Century. 3. European composer's song 4. Song from works of one of mentioned below Russian composers (M. Glinka, A. Borodin, A. Dargomyzhsky, A. Rubinstein, N. Rimsky-Korsakov, M. Balakirev, M. Mussorgsky, P. Tchaikovsky, S. Rachmaninoff,)
ROUND III
Two big arias according to the choice of participant (from works of European and Russian composers)
